Dr. Hill is a Clinical Professor in the Department of Family and Preventive Medicine at the University of California, San Diego and an Associate Professor of Health Promotion in the Graduate School of Public Health at San Diego State University. She graduated from the University of Ottawa, and obtained post-graduate training at McGill and at UCSD (in this preventive medicine residency).  

Dr. Hill has directed two community health centers (CHC) in San Diego, providing direct patient care in addition to programmatic responsibilities.  She continues her 30-year practice at one of these CHCs. She spent her 2001 sabbatical in East London in a public health facility. Through several collaborative projects, she is involved in research on injury prevention, clinical preventive services, and compliance research with the Center for Behavioral Epidemiology and Community Health.

Dr. Hill is the Medical Director of the Refugee Health Assessment Program, and the Co-Director of the Injury Epidemiology Prevention and Research Center. She is a past board member of the American College of Preventive Medicine and the Association of Teachers of Preventive Medicine, she is on the Physician Advisory Board of the County Immunization Program, and she is a reviewer for the American Journal of Preventive Medicine and other journals. She is Chair of Graduate Medical Education (GME) for ACPM.
